And now it stops here?... No, one of the achievements of the project partners is that they have managed to put the topic on the agenda of important stakeholders within their countries. Specific measures will be stimulated and even programmes for energy efficient transport will be set up by relevant government bodies.

The project partners would like to thank the over 100 companies and all engaged government agencies and branch organisations for their support and cooperation throughout the project

INTERACTION: improving logistics and freight transport

INTERACTION aims to enhance logistics and freight transport performance by shippers to reduce energy consumption, CO2-emissions and transport costs. The project is part of the IEE (Intelligent Energy Europe) programme of the European Commission and builds on a successful project in the Netherlands (Sectoral Approach Transport Reduction, 2005)

The INTERACTION project is set up and carried out by a group of energy agencies and specialized consultancies that are actively involved in projects and programmes concerning energy use reduction in freight transport. Recent experiences in different countries show that a sectoral approach towards energy use reduction in freight transport is very successful. Actual practice has shown that – on average - reduction potentials of 15% can be realised.

What can Interaction mean for your company?

Within the INTERACTION project companies and their branch organisations are working together on improvement of transport and logistics. As a shipper or a logistics service provider you might be able to save energy usage and costs (up to 15%!!) at the sametime by implementing measures. The database with best practices can trigger your thoughts. If you need further information or assistance, please contact the project partners
