Efficiency
An important goal of INTERACTION is to help industries and companies to make their transport and logistics as efficient as possible. In general measures implemented within companies may serve three broad defined goals:
- Transport avoidance: Avoiding the need for physical transport
- Transport efficiency: Do transport that cannot be avoided as efficient as possible
- Cleaner transport: Do transport that takes place as clean as possible
Examples of feasible measures are: clean vehicles, efficient packaging, collaboration (e.g. consolidating freight), improvements in the internal logistics organisation, modal shift, standardization of loading units, ecodriving, etc. All relevant measures already implemented by companies in different countries are gathered and a database of Good practices is developd (see Good Practices)
